No one really wants to believe this, but when it comes to business communication, people do judge your company by the way you communicate and the mistakes you make in your writing. The only way to avoid this is to have someone in your company read the piece before you go to print. Make sure it’s someone who hasn’t read it before, and along with checking for typos and grammar, ask them if they understand what’s being said. You’d be surprised how much fancy advertising speak makes it to print, and yet doesn’t do the job it’s supposed to do.
